FACEBALL / DATA PROTECTION

Your sporting story. Your data.

This notice explains the information we use to run FaceBall, what others may see, and how you can exercise your rights. It is written for young athletes and their guardians too.

The essentials

May be visible

After parent or guardian confirmation, a minor’s sports profile may also be visible: profile name, birth year, sport, position, area, team, statistics, photos, videos, and published posts.

Stays private

Login email, protected password, full date of birth, guardian contact details, sessions, and private messages. Messages can be seen by people in the conversation.

Who controls the data

The data controller is E-QUIPE SRLS, Viale delle Milizie 58, 00192 Rome (RM), Italy, VAT no. 17629021001. FaceBall is a product of E-QUIPE SRLS.

For privacy questions or requests about your rights, email amministrazione@e-quipe.it. Parents and guardians may also contact us about a minor’s profile.

What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email, protected password, role and, for an athlete, date of birth. A sports profile can include sport, position, birth year, team, city or region, biography, height, weight, photos, videos, and statistics. We also process posts, comments, follows, messages, searches, and reports created through the service.

For a minor, we collect the guardian’s name and email, and the status and date of their confirmation. The guardian receives an email with a personal link. For security, we record technical data such as IP address, device or browser type, sessions, and logs needed to operate and protect the service.

We do not ask for health information or other highly sensitive information in a profile. Do not add it to biographies, posts, or messages. If you upload images of other people, make sure you have the right to publish them.

Why we use it

Account, email verification, profile, content, search, and message data are needed to provide FaceBall: the legal basis is performance of the requested service (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Without an email address and the required account information, we cannot create or maintain an account.

A parent or guardian confirms their email to make a minor’s sports profile visible and publish photos, videos, and posts from the family account. Confirmation can be withdrawn in the family account or by contacting us; withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing.

We use technical data, reports, and essential records to prevent abuse, protect minors, and defend the service and its users, based on our legitimate interest in safety (Article 6(1)(f)). We process information required by law to meet legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). We do not use registration emails for newsletters without a separate subscription.

Public profiles and minors

FaceBall is designed to show sporting progress. When a profile is active and visible, sports details and published content may be viewed by other users and, on some pages, visitors without accounts. We do not publish login emails, full dates of birth, or guardian contact details.

For every athlete under 18, a parent or guardian creates and manages the account with their own email and may manage multiple children’s profiles. The profile stays hidden before confirmation. After confirmation it may appear in search, rankings, and the feed; the parent may publish content for the minor.

Messages from agents and clubs to a minor’s profile require a second guardian confirmation, separate from profile confirmation. This permission can be withdrawn separately in the family account.

If you are a guardian and do not recognize a request, do not confirm it and contact us. You can ask us to limit visibility or delete the profile. Help the minor understand that others may see and copy published photos, videos, and information.

Who receives it

Visible profile content is available to platform users and visitors, including agents and clubs looking for athletes. Messages are available to the conversation participants. We use the guardian’s name and email to send the request and record their response.

We use infrastructure and hosting providers, and Resend for service emails. Authorized staff access information only when needed. We may disclose information to authorities when legally required. We do not sell athletes’ personal data.

Where it is processed

The app database and media are stored on FaceBall’s infrastructure. We use Resend, a US provider, for verification, password reset, and guardian request emails. Email addresses and message content may therefore be processed in the United States.

Resend states that it participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and provides standard contractual clauses for transfers outside that framework. Contact us for more information about safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep account, profile, and content data while the account is active or needed for the requested service. You can delete your account in the Account area: we delete primary account records and start removing associated media. Information already shared with others, security records, reports, or data needed for legal obligations and disputes may be kept for as long as needed for those purposes.

Sessions normally expire after 7 days. Guardian links expire after 7 days and their tokens are invalidated after use. Any backups follow their technical replacement cycle and are not used to keep a deleted profile public.

Cookies and device data

The app uses essential session cookies to keep you signed in and local browser storage for preferences and temporary registration information. If you install the web app, the browser may cache files needed to run it. FaceBall does not currently set advertising or profiling cookies on the public website.

You can manage cookies and local data in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.

Rankings and search

Rankings order visible profiles using profile information and a completeness score. Some searches may use sports filters and numerical representations of profiles to return relevant results. These tools help people discover athletes; they do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on a person.

Your choices and rights

You may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability where applicable, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent without retroactive effect. Email amministrazione@e-quipe.it and identify the account; we may verify your identity before acting.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante). If our processing changes substantially, we will update this page and notify you directly where required.
